Job summary

Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health, seeks an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and support radiologists in invasive procedures. The role includes requisition processing, equipment maintenance, and QA activities within a busy imaging department.

Responsibilities also include supervising residents, assisting with supplies, and documenting patient data while ensuring high-quality patient care and accuracy in the electronic record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience.
• ARDMS Certification or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures.
• Assists Radiologist with special procedures such as biopsies, utilizing specialized sonographic techniques.
• Prepares requisitions with codes, charges and pertinent information for billing and dictations.
• Maintains work stations and equipment.
• Contributes to an effective quality management and quality control program for assigned area that is consistent with overall departmental/hospital quality management plan.
• Instructs Radiology residents and students that rotate regularly through the department.
• Assists in the procurement of supplies.
• Plans and/or implements care for assigned patients.
• Types all demographic patient information from the consult into department computer according to computer program and department protocol with no more than five errors per year as observed.
