Job summary

Thompson Health is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Assistant to provide clerical support for the CMG Ultrasound department across Canandaigua, Farmington and Geneva. You will coordinate referrals, scheduling and recordkeeping to ensure timely diagnostic services.

The role requires high school diploma or GED, patient-facing experience, and familiarity with PACS/McKesson Paragon. On-site work with a per diem schedule and competitive hourly pay. Thompson Health values CARES and employee wellness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or previous experience.
• Customer service experience required.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Medical terminology strongly desired or must agree to complete online course within 6 months of hire.
• Secretarial/Clerical experience with strong organizational skills preferred.
• Expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel helpful.
• Computer knowledge and skills including McKesson Paragon applications for scheduling, ordering and results of Diagnostic Imaging and on-line PACS.
• Minimum of 2 years of previous medical office and/or hospital experience preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of computerized or electronic scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• The DI Assistant will provide clerical support for the CMG Ultrasound department through interaction with the Diagnostic Imaging Director, Supervisors and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging.
• The DI Assistant plays a vital role in assuring diagnostic care is made available to each patient through referrals, appointments and services.
• The DI Assistant provides full support for the OB/GYN Ultrasound Department in the form of telephone response, patient scheduling of future and recall appointments, obtaining physician orders prior to testing, verifying accuracy of requests with orders in McKesson Paragon and PACS.
• The DI Assistant will manage the maintenance of medical records, film filing and the dept's PACS system for digital imaging.
• The DI Assistant will assist in, and perform diverse tasks required to maintain an efficient and organized office.
