Job summary

Thompson Health in Canandaigua, NY seeks a DI Assistant to provide clerical support for the Diagnostic Imaging department, coordinate patient scheduling (Mammography future and recall), and maintain records in PACS. You will work with the Imaging Director and staff to ensure timely exams and accurate orders in McKesson Paragon.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, customer service experience, and familiarity with McKesson Paragon.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or previous experience.
• Customer service experience required.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Medical terminology strongly desired or must agree to complete online course within 6 months of hire
• Secretarial/Clerical experience with strong organizational skills preferred.
• Expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel helpful.
• Computer knowledge and skills including but not limited to the various McKesson Paragon applications involved in scheduling, ordering and resulting of Diagnostic Imaging examinations and on-line digital imaging (PACS) preferred.
• 2 to 3 years of previous medical office and/or hospital experience preferred.
• 1 to 2 years as computerized or electronic scheduling experience preferred.
• Pay Range: $19.40 - $22.50
• Starting Pay: Based on Experience

• The DI Assistant exhibits leadership skills in communication, team building, process improvement, development of responsibility through delegation of activity, and promoting office efficiencies.
• Demonstrates skills in communication and prioritizing assignments.
• Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with all system departments, the medical staff and other health care professionals at Thompson Health.
• The DI Assistant exhibits time management skills, keyboarding skills and multi-tasking abilities to assure business components of the department are maintained at an efficient and effective level.
• Makes every effort to satisfy the needs of every customer in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• The DI Assistant has a working knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging testing and understands the complex scheduling issues involved with timely and appropriate testing of patients.
