Job summary

Children’s Minnesota is seeking a Diagnostic Imaging Assistant to create a welcoming first impression in the Imaging department. The role handles efficient patient registration and check-in, collects demographics and consents, and coordinates with imaging teams for seamless care.

The position requires at least a high school diploma and about a year of customer service; experience with imaging software and medical office settings is preferred. On-site role with full-time hours.

Position Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant promotes a positive patient and family experience as the first impression of the Diagnostic Imaging department by creating a welcoming atmosphere to all patients, families and providers. The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant is responsible for the efficient and orderly registration and check‑in of patients and acts as a liaison between patients, families and hospital staff. Obtains accurate and complete patient demographic information and required consents before notifying appropriate modalities of the patient's arrival. Supports Children's departments and clinics in uploading images for future referred patients, as well as sending images and reports to outside facilities for continuation of care.

License/Certification/Registration required? No

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience
  • One year of customer service experience required
  • Previous experience with medical imaging software applications and the staff and vendors whose work relates to those systems
  • One year of medical office setting experience preferred
  • Experience in a Diagnostic Imaging setting preferred

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full‑time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part‑time positions will be prorated based on the employee's scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full‑time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on‑call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
