Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. seeks a Diagnostic Electrician for the Centralized Maintenance Dust Crew near Morenci, AZ, performing advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems in a large mining operation.

You will repair and install electrical components, maintain drives and control systems, and ensure compliance with safety standards while mentoring peers as needed. A strong background in industrial electrical repair and problem solving is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Certified Electronics, Electrical and/or Instrumentation Program.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance.
• Associate's degree or Trade School Certification in a related field and two years of experience in Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation repair and maintenance.
• Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment; ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have minimum personal tools as described by department tool list or obtain them within 90 days of hire date.
• Demonstrated aptitude and ability to pass written assessment and safety-related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Remove, repair and install electrical components and systems; diagnose and optimize processes.
• Perform routine and non-routine repairs with safety compliance.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on electrical, instrumentation, and industrial equipment.
• Troubleshoot AC/DC drives, PLCs, cranes, control systems, transmitters and weigh scales.
• Installations and renovations compliant with standards; follow SOPs and safety practices.
