Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Diagnostic Electrician for the Centralized Maintenance Dust Crew at Morenci, AZ. The role focuses on installation, repair, and advanced troubleshooting of electrical systems and instrumentation in an open-pit copper mining complex.

You will work with AC/DC drives, PLCs, and crane systems, performing preventive maintenance, following SOPs, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on site.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved electronics/electrical/instrumentation program OR two years of related experience with equivalent training.
• Associate's degree or trade school certification in a related field with two years of experience.
• Ability to read manuals, prints and schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
• Strong communication skills and adherence to safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Remove, repair and install electrical components and systems, diagnose and troubleshoot.
• Perform routine and non-routine repairs with safety as a priority.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on electrical/instrumentation equipment and systems.
• Work with AC/DC drives, PLCs, and related control equipment; assist mentors.
• Follow SOPs, participate in safety and environmental activities, use plant equipment properly.
