Qualifications

• Medical Terminology knowledge or completion of a terminology class.
• 1 year of experience in a diagnostic imaging department (preferred).
• Experience in a clinical coordination role (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination of multidisciplinary breast cancer and imaging information with the Clinical Care Coordinator.
• Call back patients with abnormal mammograms and assist in follow up.
• Coordinate diagnostic appointments with radiology, surgery, or primary care providers.
• Explain image-guided procedures knowledgeably and in detail.
• Schedule biopsies (stereotactic, ultrasound core, localization) and follow-up on results.
• Notify appropriate physician with results and provide patient education.

Job Description:Provides patient support and expedites the diagnostic work-up in the mammography department up through diagnosis. Provides education, support and follow up to women as they progress through this process.
