Qualifications

• Two years of applicable and recent clinical experience.
• Nevada RN license or California driver's license and ability to pass DMV criteria.
• Certified Diabetes Educator required within 12 months of hire; AHA BLS at time of hire.
• EMR training and competency.

Responsibilities

• The Diabetes Nurse Specialist coordinates and conducts patient assessment and education for diabetes and other chronic conditions.
• Collaborates with physicians to tailor patient education plans including self-management, glucose interpretation, and medication usage.
• Educates patients across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in group and individual settings.
