Job summary

City of Hope Beckman Research Institute seeks a Project Development Scientist to support the Writing Team within the Arthur Riggs Diabetes and Metabolism Research Institute. You will shepherd projects from conception to grant/clinical protocol submission, coordinating with investigators, biostatisticians and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master with 5+ years in scientific writing, grant/manuscript writing, or clinical trial design/regulatory work.
• Experience with NIH/diabetes or DOD grant writing (R01 level) and human studies is required.
• Excellent scientific writing, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong data interpretation and ability to present lab/clinical data clearly.
• Proficient with Word, EndNote, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with Acrobat/Illustrator helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist with manuscript writing, editing, data presentation and journal submission.
• Assist with identification of funding opportunities, grant writing and submission.
• Work with investigators to assure clarity and accuracy of data presentations and results interpretation.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of disease or treatment area of focus.
• Coordinate clinical trial design, writing and submission of clinical protocols.
• Assist with Investigational New Drug Applications (IND).
