Job summary

LevelBlue in New York City is seeking an entry-level Cyber Security Lab Technician to support DFIR engagements on-site. You will work with the DFIR and Operations teams to perform daily tasks for client engagements.

Responsibilities include preserving data, performing forensic analysis, maintaining evidence logs, and assisting in lab operations. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in IT or cyber security and be eager to develop forensic skills.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, IT Security or related field or equivalent experience.
• Exposure to industry standard data collection tools such as CelleBrite, LogicCube Forensic Falcon, Magnet GreyKey, etc. is preferred.
• Comfort with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and browser software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Perform highly detailed work with clear goals and minimal direction.
• Able to manage multiple priorities with flexibility and enthusiasm.
• Work effectively and professionally with others.
• General knowledge of computer hardware terminology preferred.
• Able to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Document and preserve data from electronic sources using forensic imaging on laptops, servers, and mobile devices.
• Support forensic examiners by conducting forensic analysis.
• Maintain proficiency with industry standard tools and practices.
• Assist in management on-site of evidence and the evidence room.
• Create new evidence listings and track evidence in the database.
• Conduct searches and generate reports using the evidence database.
