  • Implement programming from the Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN) and collaborate with clubs/departments on justice-related initiatives.
  • Support recruitment, preparation, and attendance at Denver Advocacy Day (Spring).
  • Encourage student participation in justice and advocacy work.
  • Attend mentor meetings with UMin supervisor and support major UMin events.

DF AY26/27 Program Assistant for Justice & Advocacy

Job Description:

The Office of University Ministry creates a welcoming environment, accompanying our campus community on their varied spiritual journeys, and promotes opportunities to explore the connection between justice and spiritual identity. This position will support UMins’ efforts to engage the campus community in faith that does justice, animating Jesuit principles and identity in connection with justice and advocacy work. This position will work with multiple programs (both internal and external to Regis), engage with peers to provide justice and advocacy education, research legislation and public policy, and develop strategies for engaging the campus community on a variety of justice and advocacy topics and activities. This position is available for undergraduate students with junior or senior standing and must have at least one year of prior experience with justice and advocacy work, including attendance at IFTJ, Colorado Advocacy Day or a related experience.

  • Serve as the student lead for implementing programming from the Ignatian Solidarity Network (ISN), which may include but are not limited to:

ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES –

  • Maintain positive and proactive behaviors with customers, coworkers and staff

  • Work effectively and responsibly without close supervision after receiving instructions

  • Be punctual, dependable, and honest

  • Answer questions, both directional and informational, in a friendly, patient manner

  • Communicate clearly, efficiently, and respectfully both in-person and electronically

  • Utilize MS Office Suite, including Office 365 and Google Suite occasionally

  • Work collaboratively with other student ministers, staff and other departments

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • One year experience in justice and advocacy work (or related coursework), including attendance at IFTJ or Colorado Advocacy Day. A passion for social justice, a desire to accompany peers, and an openness to serve all students, regardless of their faith, political or social backgrounds.

  • Availability to work occasional weekend or evening events as needed

  • Applicants do not need to be Catholic but must be open to learning about and respecting Catholic Social Teaching, Jesuit tradition and values related to a “faith that does justice” and stances of the Catholic Church.
