Job summary

Regis University seeks a Lead Community Development Assistant (LCDAs) to support housing and residence life operations. The role includes office hours, administrative duties, and coordination of calendars for community staff and desk assistants.

You will work closely with professional staff on housing projects and communications, while maintaining hall records and assisting with programming and newsletters. Hours are 10–12 per week at the HRE office under supervision.

Qualifications

  • At least two Regis-formal leadership semesters or equivalent experience.
  • Previous housing staff experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Division of Student Affairs' mission and values.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must maintain 12–18 credits with GPA 3.0+; additional credits allowed per policy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Resource Room inventory and space organization.
  • Create and manage duty calendars for LCDAs/CFAs and update as needed.
  • Coordinate Desk Assistant schedule and liaise between DA and AD.
  • Oversee hall records such as Room Condition Reports and rosters.
  • Assist with office tasks, communications, and collateral projects.

DF AY26/27 Lead Community Development Assistant

Job Description:

Lead Community Development Assistants are an integral part of the HRE student staff. LCDAs are responsible for office hours in the HRE office, including administrative duties as well as programming and area/building specific duties. LCDAs work closely with professional staff on collateral projects, including Housing Selection, Student Staff Training, and Student Staff Recruitment. LCDAs live out the mission and vision of the HRE department, and act as responsible employees of Regis University.

Lead Community Development Assistants (LCDAs) are responsible for administrative tasks including:

  • Managing the Resource Room, including maintaining an adequate supply of items and organization and function of the space.
  • Create and manage the Community Development Assistant/Community Assistant Duty calendar. Approve and update duty changes as they arise and inform AD when necessary.
  • Create and manage the Desk Assistant schedule and serve as the liaison between the Desk Assistants and the AD, including CDA Front Desk Hours.
  • In conjunction with the Professional staff in the halls, oversee the maintenance of hall records including Room Condition Reports, CDA/CA resident rosters, Roommate Contracts.

LCDAs will also work 10-12 hours a week in the HRE office, under the supervision of the AD. Office Hours include work on:

  • Work Order & Facilities Updates
  • Answer phone calls and office emails
  • Building programming updates and newsletters
  • Promote and assist professional staff with social media engagement
  • Collateral work with AD (social media, student staff hiring, training)

LCDAs will also participate in larger in-hall staff administrative responsibilities including:

  • Communicate any resident, staff, or building concern to their supervisor in a timely manner. Respond in a timely fashion to position-related emails: during the school year within two business days, and during periods of school vacations within one week.
  • Conduct floor/building meetings throughout the year as directed by the calendar or as determined by HRE. Serve as a liaison between residents and Regis University administrative staff. Address community issues as needed.
  • Know and enforce fire safety policy and procedures. Conduct and assist with safety drills and walk-throughs.
  • Conduct their own semester program in conjunction with another student affairs staff member.
  • Establish positive working relationships with HRE office staff, Physical Plant, ABM, Campus Safety, Desk Assistants, Community Development Assistants, Community Assistants, Peer Ministers, and other campus personnel.
  • Assist Professional staff in opening and closing the buildings each semester and assist with room condition reports at the end of the academic year. Staff will be required to stay through commencement and will be released by their supervisor.
  • Be prompt in attending all required meetings and duties.

Qualifications:

  • At least two semesters of Regis formal leadership, or supplementary leadership experience from another University is required.
  • Previous housing staff experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Division of Student Affairs' mission and values.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants must also be enrolled in 12 to 18 credits and maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher. Those wishing to take additional credits must follow the guidelines listed below in "Time Commitment".

These positions are benefits-eligible for workers' compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
