Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer in the McLean, VA area to join a growing practice delivering cloud and application development features. You will work on automation, tooling, and secure deployment processes across multiple cloud platforms with a focus on CI/CD, IaC, and secure coding practices.

The role expects 3–5 years of cloud and DevSecOps experience, plus hands-on experience with containers, orchestration, and automated testing within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience.
• 3 Years of Experience with one or more clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• 3 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket
• 3 Years of Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages
• 3 Years of application DevSecOps Experience with actual/active development experience in an Agile environment
• 3 Years of Experience implementing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes
• 3 Years of Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration
• 3 Years of Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Pipelines, CircleCI, TravisCI
• 3 Years of Experience integrating deployments with industry standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestration
• Experience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional tests into CI/CD Pipelines
• Certifications: AWS DevOps, Azure Dev, SAFe DevOps (preferred)
• Local to Washington, DC metro area (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Establishing development tools and infrastructure for automation
• Understanding needs of stakeholders and conveying to developers
• Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes
• Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
• Ensuring systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
• Identifying technical problems and developing software fixes
• Working with developers to ensure processes work as intended
• Support enterprise Cloud apps or infra through infrastructure as code including automated server/network configurations
• Document as-is state, perform gap analysis, produce options/recommendations
• Leverage virtualization and containerization to modernize software systems
• Act as an individual contributor and mentor junior team members
• Promote continuous improvement for DevSecOps processes and tools
• Present status updates and cross-train team members
• Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for service improvements
