DevSecOps Engineer Remote
Blu Omega is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support a federal program focused on mission-critical cloud infrastructure. This role operates within a remote environment and is responsible for designing, provisioning, and supporting secure AWS cloud environments supporting mission-critical federal systems. The position requires experience supporting cloud infrastructure, automation, and collaborative technical integration within a mission-driven environment.
Program Overview This program supports the Department of Veterans Affairs Loan Guaranty Service, helping Veterans, active-duty service members, and eligible spouses buy, build, or retain homes.

Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery and requirements sessions with product teams, QA, release management, infrastructure, security, and cloud engineering stakeholders to define environment and testing needs.
- Design, provision, configure, and support AWS infrastructure, including accounts, compute resources, VPCs, network connectivity, and supporting cloud services.
- Evaluate AWS account structures and infrastructure configurations for development, testing, pre-production, and production environments.
- Support RHEL-based server infrastructure and troubleshoot infrastructure, OS, connectivity, and configuration issues.
- Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Integrate cloud environments with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or comparable technologies.
- Support environments for automated regression and performance testing, ensuring scalability based on application needs.
- Define test data requirements, including datasets, security restrictions, refresh cadence, and ownership.
- Inventory application interfaces and external connections, determining appropriate connectivity methods for live or stubbed testing environments.
- Support cloud database environments such as PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS, and evaluate data and infrastructure dependencies.
- Plan, document, and maintain technical architecture, environment configuration, and implementation details.
- Ensure solutions adhere to federal security, infrastructure, change, and release management standards.
- Troubleshoot and validate infrastructure configurations, deployments, and environment setup.
- Collaborate with federal clients and technical teams to support mission-critical operations.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree; 4+ years with an associate's degree; or 6+ years with a high school diploma.
- Hands-on experience designing, provisioning, configuring, and troubleshooting AWS infrastructure.
- Support for RHEL-based environments.
