Blu Omega is seeking a Test Engineer to support a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) program focused on enterprise application quality and validation. This role operates within a modernized and legacy application environment and is responsible for manual testing across file-based ingestion workflows, business rules, system workflows, and enterprise integrations. The position requires experience supporting software testing activities within a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain manual test plans and test cases for file-based ingestion workflows and enterprise applications
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, and business rule compliance across inbound and outbound file processing
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing across application workflows, database updates, and voucher creation processes
- Collaborate with software developers to understand application functionality, database changes, and system integrations
- Partner with business analysts and VA stakeholders to clarify requirements, validate acceptance criteria, and maintain requirements traceability
- Use Jira and Jira XRay to manage test cases, execute test cycles, document defects, and maintain end-to-end traceability
- Support integration testing across enterprise systems, including EHRM, DAS file transfers, and FMS
- Document test results, defects, remediation activities, and release readiness artifacts
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Communicate testing progress, risks, and quality metrics with technical teams and program stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Test Engineer, Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Tester, or similar quality engineering role supporting enterprise applications
- Experience developing and executing manual test plans for file processing, data validation, database updates, and system workflows
- Experience using Jira XRay (or comparable test management tools) for test execution, defect management, and requirements traceability
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), software testing methodologies, and QA best practices
- Experience performing functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing
- Ability to collaborate effectively with software developers, business analysts, Scrum teams, and business stakeholders
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical documentation skills
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and Microsoft Office 365
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs or other federal healthcare environments
- Experience supporting VA Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM), Distributed Accounting System (DAS), Financial Management System (FMS), or similar enterprise healthcare systems
- Experience supporting sustainment, integration testing, or release validation efforts
- Familiarity working alongside C#/.NET development teams
- Experience validating file-based data ingestion, ETL workflows, or enterprise data integration processes
- Experience working in Agile Scrum environments supporting federal programs
- Active GFE and PIV credentials
Compensation
Salary Range: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00
Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
