Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a DevOps System Engineer to support a U.S. Air Force program in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

The role focuses on sustainment, CI/CD for the first mission-critical app migrating to the cloud, with a hybrid onsite model (2 days/week). The candidate will hold an active Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred), 5+ years of related experience, and expertise in AWS, containers, Kubernetes, Ansible, Jenkins and Bitbucket, ensuring secure, scalable infrastructure and DevSecOps

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance, Top Secret preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in system engineering, admin, and DevSecOps.
• IAT II certifications: CySA+, Security+, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and air-gapped environments.
• Experience supporting Agile development environment.
• Containerization and automation with Kubernetes and Ansible.
• Hands-on CI/CD with Jenkins and Bitbucket.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as SonarQube or Fortify.
• Experience maintaining RHEL/Linux infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain secure, scalable on-premises infrastructure.
• Collaborate with teams to support application and infrastructure requirements.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and monitoring processes for legacy applications.
• Monitor performance, resolve issues, and improve system reliability.
• Implement DevSecOps security controls and best practices.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and deployment incidents.
• Administer and maintain critical Linux/Windows servers
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies to enhance operations.
