Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer 2 with DevOps, Linux, and Python expertise in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph clearance and focuses on supporting live production operations and system health for availability, reliability, and continuous service delivery.

The candidate will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain complex software systems, collaborating with Dev & Ops to optimize performance and scalability in a government-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS or related discipline with 3+ years SWE experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related discipline with 5+ years SWE experience.
• 7 years of SWE experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, tests, deploys, documents, maintains, and enhances software systems based on requirements.
• Oversee live production operations to ensure availability and performance.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve system health and support continuous delivery.
• Lead one or more software development teams as appropriate to the project.
• Develop data queries and database applications (SQL/PostgreSQL).
• Develop software solutions by analyzing performance and requirements and documenting components.
