Job summary

FlightSafety International seeks a DevOps Manager to lead architecture/engineering for our simulation infrastructure, guiding the development and management of enterprise-grade systems. You will drive DevOps culture, automation, and site reliability across on‑prem and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of management experience, proficiency with Azure DevOps or GitLab, and a strong scripting background in Bash or Python. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing direct reports within an engineering or operations environment.
• 5+ years of experience managing core operating systems (Windows, RedHat, CentOS, Amazon Linux), web servers (Nginx, Apache), and modern software packages (Terraform, Bash, Sh).
• 5+ years of experience integrating monitoring, alerting, and reporting tools (NewRelic, Akamai, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Prometheus) into new and existing systems.
• 3+ years of experience implementing and supporting microservices using containers and orchestrators (Docker, Kubernetes, DockerSwarm, Rancher, or Terraform).
• Hands-on proficiency with Git fundamentals and scripting languages (Bash, Python, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coach a high-performing team of engineers, directly managing performance, career growth, and daily technical execution.
• Promote DevOps principles, automated workflows, and a Site Reliability Engineering culture across the engineering organization.
• Oversee Level 1 support, manage the monitoring of customer-facing systems, and coordinate 24/7 on‑call rotation activities.
• Architect, operate, and maintain on prem and cloud infrastructure supporting high-volume, business-critical enterprise applications.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and ensure release processes are automated and robust.
• Develop target-state guidance for evolving the technical infrastructure across the enterprise.
