Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Fairfax, VA is seeking a DevOps Engineer / Linux Administrator to drive Linux automation, CI/CD pipelines, and secure infrastructure. You will troubleshoot Linux issues, modify software for performance, and collaborate with teams to design scalable systems.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years Linux enterprise experience, and strong scripting (Python, Bash, Zsh, Ksh, Csh).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• 3+ years’ experience implementing and troubleshooting Linux in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, or similar).
• Experience working with REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of Linux patching with DNF/YUM.
• Experience with Ansible and Jenkins.
• Experience in a secure environment.
• Strong DNS/Networking and troubleshooting skills.
• Scripting in Python, Bash, Zsh, Ksh, or Csh.
• Configuration management knowledge and experience.
• OCI environment on virtual images.
• Ability to estimate effort and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide scripting and automation for Linux administration.
• Resolve Linux issues manually.
• Modify existing software to fix errors or improve performance.
• Analyze user needs and determine design feasibility within time/cost constraints.
• Collaborate to design systems and understand project limitations and interfaces.
• Store, retrieve, and analyze data for system capability assessments.
• Build and set up development tools and CI/CD infrastructure (CI/CD, Cloud, containers, security).
• Build and test end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and ensure security against threats.
