Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to join a high-energy team building and deploying a cutting-edge data discovery platform modernization effort in Bethesda, MD. You will work on a scalable, containerized microservices stack and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

The role emphasizes production pipelines with Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure design across physical and virtual environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong Linux proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
• Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big-data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
• Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to accelerate development and improve reliability.
• Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
• Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements.
• Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities.
• Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models.
• Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities.
