Job summary

Benchstack Ai is hiring a DevOps Engineer for a TS/SCI Full Scope Poly role in a defense AI environment. The position is remote with 40–50% on-site work at government customer sites in DC or San Diego, requiring relocation where needed.

The team supports a fast-growing Series B company backed by major investors. You will own CI/CD pipelines, IaC with Terraform, and deploy across GovCloud/FedRAMP environments, ensuring platform reliability and scale.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
• 4 to 10 years in DevOps, platform or infrastructure engineering.
• Experience with GovCloud, FedRAMP, high side or VPN environments.
• Willingness to spend 40 to 50% on site in DC or San Diego.
• Nice to have: Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Python, Pulumi, Datadog.

The role

They’re hiring 3 DevOps Engineers to join a team of six on the backend platform team. These are generalist roles for engineers who want ownership.

What you’ll do

• Harden and deploy software in AWS GovCloud, FedRAMP and behind VPN environments
• Own platform health, scaling and planning

What you’ll need

• 4 to 10 years in DevOps, platform or infrastructure engineering (not pure IT)
• Strong AWS, Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes skills
• Experience in non-standard environments such as GovCloud, FedRAMP, high side or behind VPN
• Willingness to spend 40 to 50% of your time on site in DC or San Diego
• Nice to have: CS degree, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, Python, Pulumi, Datadog
