OMW Consulting is seeking a senior DevOps Engineer to scale build and deployment infrastructure for a government-focused defense technology platform. You will join a compact team of six engineers and an Engineering Manager on the backend platform, collaborating closely with data and security teams.

You will work across AWS GovCloud and high-side networks, with 40-50% on-site time with government customers in DC or San Diego. Expect ownership-driven responsibilities and a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 4–10 years of DevOps experience in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud and secure/regulatory environments.
• Proficient with IaC tools (Terraform/Pulumi) and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Manage infrastructure as code across high-side and GovCloud environments.
• Harden and deploy software in AWS GovCloud, FedRAMP, and behind-VPN environments.

Our client is a fast-growing defense technology company building software and hardware that helps deter and de-escalate conflict with America’s adversaries. Their platforms support maritime vigilance, misinformation disruption, and non-traditional intelligence collection for US government and national security customers.

They are hiring DevOps Engineers to scale their build and deployment infrastructure as the company continues to grow rapidly. You will join a team of six DevOps Engineers and a DevOps Engineering Manager on the backend platform team, working closely with the data platform and security teams.

This is a generalist DevOps role for engineers who want genuine ownership. You will support multiple environments, including AWS GovCloud and high-side networks, and spend 40-50% of your time on-site with government customers in DC or San Diego.

What you will be doing

• Build and own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform across commercial and high-side environments
• Harden and deploy software in AWS GovCloud, FedRAMP, and behind-VPN environments
• Work on-site with government customers in Washington, DC or San Diego
• Own platform health, scaling, and capacity planning
• Collaborate closely with data platform, security, and engineering teams

What we are looking for

• 4-10 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including AWS GovCloud
• Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or Pulumi
• Solid experience with Docker, Python, and Bash
• Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions
• Familiarity with Datadog, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, and SQL
• Experience deploying and operating software in secure, regulated, or classified environments
• Comfortable working directly with government customers and operating in a fast-moving, ownership-driven environment
• US-based and able to work on-site with government customers in DC or San Diego
