Our Client, a Retail Pharmacy company, is looking for a DevOps Engineer for their Deerfield, IL/ Chicago, IL / Remote location.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and evaluate software and systems that make computers work, applying principles of computer science and mathematical analysis.
- Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for various applications.
- Review and approve modifications to existing databases and database management systems.
- Instruct staff on writing and coding logical and physical database descriptions, and specify database identifiers.
- Direct database development, and approve project scope and limitations.
- Estimate time and cost for project requests based on database user needs.
- Implement security measures to protect information against damage, modification, or disclosure.
- Supervise installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.
- Develop standards and guidelines for software use and acquisition, and protect vulnerable information.
Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Mentoring skills to support and provide performance feedback.
- Experience from requirements gathering through development, testing, and delivery.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement system changes.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Experience with development software such as SQL, Visual Basic, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field.
- At least 10 years of experience, with 5 years in the specific project focus area.
- Skills in DevOps, Linux/Windows OS, Git, Azure Cloud, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Bicep, Chef.
- Nice-to-haves include CICD, Rego OPA, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, Python.
