Job description

Our Client, a Retail Pharmacy company, is looking for a DevOps Engineer for their Deerfield, IL/ Chicago, IL / Remote location.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, test, and evaluate software and systems that make computers work, applying principles of computer science and mathematical analysis.
2. Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for various applications.
3. Review and approve modifications to existing databases and database management systems.
4. Instruct staff on writing and coding logical and physical database descriptions, and specify database identifiers.
5. Direct database development, and approve project scope and limitations.
6. Estimate time and cost for project requests based on database user needs.
7. Implement security measures to protect information against damage, modification, or disclosure.
8. Supervise installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.
9. Develop standards and guidelines for software use and acquisition, and protect vulnerable information.

Requirements:

1. Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
2. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
3. Mentoring skills to support and provide performance feedback.
4. Experience from requirements gathering through development, testing, and delivery.
5. Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement system changes.
6. Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
7. Experience with development software such as SQL, Visual Basic, etc.
8. Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field.
9. At least 10 years of experience, with 5 years in the specific project focus area.
10. Skills in DevOps, Linux/Windows OS, Git, Azure Cloud, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Bicep, Chef.
11. Nice-to-haves include CICD, Rego OPA, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, Python.
