Job summary

HP IQ seeks a Software Engineer specializing in Device Security to build privacy-focused technologies for AI-enabled devices. You will work with security, firmware, OS, hardware, and cloud engineers to protect customer data and strengthen product security throughout the lifecycle.

You will develop security features across embedded systems, PCs, and server workstations, with hands-on experience in secure boot, cryptography, device identity, secure communication, and data protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field (CS/CE/EE/Cybersecurity).
• 2–4 years of software engineering experience, esp. with embedded systems or security-related development.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Java or similar systems languages.
• Foundational security concepts: secure boot, cryptography, authentication, PKI, sandboxing.
• Experience in embedded, Linux, AOSP, Windows environments; strong debugging and code review skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security features for embedded and connected devices (secure boot, key management, encryption, device identity, data protection).
• Design and implement secure software components using established security architectures and best practices.
• Collaborate with CoreOS, Firmware, Design, Hardware, and Cloud teams to integrate security into HP IQ products.
• Develop and maintain software across embedded, AOSP, Linux, or Windows environments in C/C++/Java.
• Contribute to TrustZone, TEE, kernel-level or hardware-backed security applications with guidance from senior engineers.
• Help implement secure communication channels between devices and services while protecting data.
• Work with biometric sensors and hardware to secure data flows across device boundaries.
• Participate in threat modeling, security reviews, vulnerability analysis, testing and remediation.
