Job summary

HP IQ is seeking a Software Product Security Engineer to advance secure, privacy-focused technologies across HP IQ devices. You will work with security, firmware, OS, hardware, and cloud engineers to protect customer data.

Join a team developing security features in embedded systems, PCs, and servers using C/C++/Java, across Linux, AOSP, and Windows environments. Expect threat modeling, SDLC practices, and hands-on analysis throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience, including embedded systems, operating systems, firmware, or security-related development.
• Programming experience in C, C++, Java, or a similar systems programming language.
• Foundational understanding of secure boot, cryptography, authentication, access control, PKI, or application sandboxing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security features for embedded and connected devices, including secure boot, key management, encryption, device identity, and data protection.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate security capabilities into HP IQ products across CoreOS, Firmware, Design, Hardware, and Cloud Services.
• Develop software in C, C++, Java across embedded, AOSP, Linux, or Windows environments.
• Contribute to TrustZone, TEE, kernel-level or hardware-backed security applications with guidance from experienced engineers.
