Job summary

HP IQ seeks a Software Product Security Engineer focused on device security to build secure, privacy-focused AI-enabled devices. You will work with security, firmware, OS, hardware, and cloud engineers to protect customer data and strengthen product security across embedded systems, PCs, and server-class workstations.

You will implement security features, threat modeling, cryptography, secure boot, and secure communications, developing software in C, C++, Java across Linux, AOSP, and Windows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
• 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Programming experience in C, C++, Java.
• Foundational understanding of security concepts (secure boot, cryptography, PKI).
• Experience with embedded systems or OS-level development.
• Familiarity with SDLC practices and code reviews.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Interest in device security and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security features for embedded and connected devices (secure boot, key management, encryption).
• Collaborate with CoreOS, Firmware, Design, Hardware, and Cloud Services teams to integrate security.
• Develop software in C, C++, Java across embedded, Linux, AOSP, Windows.
• Contribute to TrustZone, TEE, kernel-level, or hardware-backed security work.
• Assist with secure communications and data protection across device boundaries.
• Participate in threat modeling, security reviews, testing, and remediation.
