Job summary

Rapidus Corporation in Albany, NY is seeking a highly skilled Device Engineer to drive development and optimization of next-generation CMOS technologies. You will work at the intersection of device design, process integration, and technology enablement to improve transistor performance and manufacturability.

You will collaborate with Process Integration, DTCO, Modeling, Reliability, and Product Engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions for future logic nodes.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials Science, or 5+ years of relevant device experience.
• Strong understanding of CMOS device physics and transistor operation.
• Knowledge of Diode, FEOL/BEOL capacitance and resistance device physics.
• Experience with electrical characterization and data analysis.
• Knowledge of semiconductor process technology and device fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize advanced CMOS and passive devices for next-generation semiconductor technologies.
• Analyze electrical characterization data to uncover key device behaviors and provide guidance for future technology development.
• Evaluate technology tradeoffs across performance, power, variability, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Drive development of active and passive devices including transistors, resistors, capacitors, diodes, and ESD structures.
• Lead TEG planning, test structure definition, and DOE development to evaluate technology options and accelerate learning cycles.
• Collaborate with layout designers and cross-functional teams to deliver successful silicon experiments and technology solutions.
• Present technical results and recommendations to cross-functional teams and management.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Device Engineer to drive the development and optimization of next-generation semiconductor technologies. In this role, you will work at the intersection of device design, process integration, and technology enablement to improve transistor performance, power efficiency, and manufacturability for advanced technology nodes.

You will collaborate closely with Process Integration, DTCO, Modeling, Reliability, and Product Engineering teams to develop innovative solutions for future logic technologies.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field. Alternatively, 5+ years of semiconductor device engineering experience may be considered as a substitute provided the experience is directly relevant to the position.
• Strong understanding of CMOS device physics and transistor operation.
• Strong understanding of Diode, FEOL/BEOL Capacitance and Resistance devices physics and device operation.
• Experience with electrical characterization and data analysis.
• Knowledge of semiconductor process technology and device fabrication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with advanced logic technologies (FinFET, GAA, CFET, or beyond-CMOS concepts).
• Demonstrated ability to correlate physical characterization data (e.g., TEM, CD-SEM) with electrical performance and translate findings into actionable technology development strategies.

Good Faith Salary Range

$130,000 - $285,000 annually

*The salary range provided is a good-faith estimate for this position in New York at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, and work location.
