Job summary

Cboe Global Markets is seeking an Engineering Manager for DevEx that will own the internal platform and drive developer productivity across distributed teams. The role emphasizes reliability, observability, and scalable infrastructure.

You’ll lead a small team, hire effectively, and partner with security to advance controls earlier in development. This is a hands-on, high-trust leadership position in a US-based office.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform, developer experience, infrastructure or reliability engineering with a bachelor's degree, or 10+ years without a degree, including 3+ years leading such teams
• Experience leading platform, developer experience, infrastructure or reliability engineering teams
• Owning developer experience end to end
• Treating an internal platform as a product, with engineers as the customer
• Delivery as a system to be measured and tuned, with the practices to back it up
• Reliability engineering experience, including SLIs/SLOs, error budgets and incident practice
• Comfort authoring design documents and architecture decision records
• Strong collaboration with security and governance teams

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers, including performance management and hiring
• Remove platform work from other teams to let engineers focus on domain problems
• Treat developer experience as an internal product and measure delivery health
• Set platform strategy and align roadmaps with delivery needs
• Own CI pipelines in GitHub Actions and integrate with deployment tooling
• Advocate for developers and reflect their needs in platform development
• Instrument delivery and production health, measure outcomes
• Define service level objectives and manage to an error budget
• Automate repetitive manual work and improve deployment frequency
• Lead reliability practices, DR planning, and recovery drills
• Maintain architecture decision records and cross-team alignment
• Partner with security to move controls earlier in the lifecycle
