Job summary

Cboe Global Markets in Chicago is seeking a DevEx Engineer to help design and run developer experience tooling on Kubernetes. You will build and own CI pipelines, observability, and infrastructure automation to empower engineers.

You will collaborate across teams to reduce deployment pain, define SLIs, and ensure reliable production systems while advancing a modern, secure platform in a fast-paced financial-tech environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in platform, developer experience, infrastructure or reliability engineering with a bachelor's degree, or 5+ years without a degree
• Experience supporting developer experience across the delivery lifecycle, from build and test through deployment and observability
• Experience building and operating production application services, in Java or a comparable language, before moving into developer tooling
• Observability instrumentation in services and pipelines (metrics, logs, traces)
• Defining service level objectives and running to an error budget with actionable alerting

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain CI pipelines in GitHub Actions
• Own Helm charts and environment configurations
• Instrument pipelines to produce production-grade delivery metrics
• Add observability into microservices (logs, traces, metrics)
• Define and enforce SLIs and error budgets
• Automate deployments to make releases safe and repeatable
• Operate containerized services on Kubernetes
• Manage infrastructure as code for reproducible environments
• Contribute to incident response and durable fixes
