DV Trading in Chicago is seeking a DevOps Engineer Intern to join a global DevOps team responsible for firm-wide infrastructure and platform solutions. This role offers high visibility and hands-on impact as your work ships to production.

You will deploy and operate Kubernetes workloads, use GitOps with Argo CD, extend observability with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and participate in platform upgrades to support a growing trading environment.

Qualifications

Pursuing BS or MS in CS/CE/IS, graduating Summer 2028.
Hands-on Linux fundamentals and networking basics.
Git workflow with meaningful commits and merge requests.
Python for automation and scripting; comfortable with YAML.
Interest in SRE/DevOps practices and cloud exposure.

Responsibilities

Deploy and operate workloads on Kubernetes: containers, Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, and PV/PVC basics.
Work in a GitOps model using Argo CD; reconcile desired state from git and handle merges.
Extend observability with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager in lower environments.
Triagе alerts end-to-end: validate signal, correlate with changes, document findings.
Build dashboards and panels from existing metrics; add recording rules when reviewed.
Participate in platform upgrades following runbooks and change windows.
Support migration of services from bare metal to Kubernetes under mentorship.
Contribute to internal AI-assisted tooling and guardrails for safe usage.
