Job summary

Cboe Global Markets is seeking an experienced CCUS Software Engineer in Chicago to join a high-trust DevEx team. You will help build scalable pipelines, tooling, and observability for production services, and contribute to incident response and durable fixes.

You will improve deployment automation, manage Kubernetes-based services, and guide tooling decisions that empower other engineers, with a strong emphasis on reliability and fast delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience building production services in Java or similar language.
• Experience with observability, metrics, logs, and traces.
• Proficiency in Linux fundamentals and containerized environments.
• Experience automating delivery pipelines and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Building and maintaining CI pipelines in GitHub Actions and integrating them with deployment tooling.
• Owning Helm charts and values for environment deployments.
• Instrumenting pipelines to produce metrics on the software delivery lifecycle.
• Instrumenting observability into microservices with logging, tracing and retention.
• Defining service level objectives and error budgets.
• Making production paths push-button and reversible with automated releases and rollbacks.
• Creating tooling to improve speed and safety of shipping.
• Deploying and operating containerized services on Kubernetes.
• Managing infrastructure as code and keeping environments reproducible.
• Participating in incident response and durable fixes.
• Contributing to disaster recovery testing and recovery objectives.
• Documenting decisions in architecture decision records.
