Job summary

Montgomery County Board of Developmental Disabilities Services is seeking a Developmental Specialist to coordinate services for infants and toddlers, conducting developmental assessments and creating individual plans.

You will partner with families, coordinate with care teams, and support transitions as children age out of early intervention, with telework option and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or graduate-level degree in education, health, social or behavioral science from an accredited college/university.
  • Bachelor’s degree with two+ years of verified experience with children birth–5 with disabilities or delays.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a valid professional license in eligible fields (counseling, early childhood, special education, etc.).
  • Eligible for Ohio DY certification per OAC 5123-10-05 and maintain certification.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to service locations in homes/communities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive developmental assessments per DODD standards.
  • Develop IFSP-based outcome strategies to promote skill-building.
  • Use coaching to enhance families’ ability to implement IFSP strategies.
  • Attend conferences with families, providers, and community agencies.
  • Collaborate with outside agencies and professionals in meetings and sessions.
  • Support transitions for children turning 3 and exiting EI program when needed.
  • Complete documentation and reports timely, including digital entries.
  • Attend trainings and credentialing activities as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s or graduate-level degree in education/health/social/behavioral sciences
Bachelor’s or graduate-level degree + 2+ years of relevant experience with children birth–5
Bachelor’s or graduate-level degree + valid professional license (e.g., counseling, early childhood, special education,..)
Eligible for Ohio Department of Children and Youth certification per OAC 5123-10-05
Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
