Job summary

Bay Cove Human Services seeks a Developmental Specialist to provide direct care and case management for a caseload of clients. The role emphasizes teaching daily living skills, coordinating service plans, and documenting progress with accuracy.

Responsibilities include leading group activities, delivering supportive counseling, and ensuring services align with human rights and Bay Cove standards. The position requires a valid MA driver’s license and current CPR/First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
• CPR and First Aid training/certifications required.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and assist mobility-impaired participants as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates in development and implementation of Day Habilitation Service Plans and goals for assigned caseload.
• Teaches developmental skills to increase independent functioning (self-care, communication, self-advocacy, ADLs).
• Leads group planning and implements training and therapeutic activities aligned to Service Plan goals.
• Provides documentation for participant activities and progress notes by the 15th day of the following month.
• Provides supportive counseling to participants around daily personal and social issues.
• Delivers services with respect and dignity in line with human rights training and Bay Cove standards.
• Reports medical/health concerns to Healthcare Supervisor and provides emergency intervention as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
