Job summary

Baroco Corporation is seeking a Developmental Specialist in West Springfield, MA. This full-time role blends direct care, program development, and case management to support consumers in achieving independence.

Responsibilities include skill development, service coordination, and compliance with state regulations. Qualifications include a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), experience in human services, and a valid MA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum).
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred.
• Experience in human services or a related field required.
• Prior experience with case management and consumer reviews strongly preferred.
• Valid MA driver’s license with a motor vehicle record that meets insurance requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct Care & Skill Development: Assess consumer skill levels and develop individualized training programs; implement and oversee skill-building programs; assist with Activities of Daily Living; develop teaching materials; support community outings; provide transportation as needed.
• Service Management & Consumer Advocacy: Serve as Service Manager/Case Manager; maintain consumer records; coordinate IDT meetings; advocate for services; monitor DHSPs/IPs.
• Behavioral & Medical Support: Implement behavior support plans; respond to emergencies; collaborate with clinical staff to monitor progress.
• Documentation, Compliance & Quality: Complete required documentation; ensure regulatory compliance; report suspected abuse; attend meetings and trainings; assist with staff training.
