Open Sky Community Services seeks a Developmental Specialist to design and supervise Day Habilitation Service Plans, routines, and community integration initiatives for adults with intellectual disabilities. Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history.
• Drug testing required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee Day Habilitation Service Plans and supported routines for individuals served.
• Identify and secure needed resources to increase independence and community involvement.
• Coordinate daily activity schedules and oversee implementation of plans.
• Foster and develop positive community relationships and partnerships.
• Train staff in the DHSP process, reporting requirements, and strategies.
• Provide case management as assigned and participate in interdisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with ancillary services and other providers to ensure comprehensive supports.
• Ensure individuals receive supports to maximize health and safety.

Open Sky's Day Habilitation programs serve adults between the ages of 23-85 with a primary diagnosis of intellectual disabilities, though some individuals may also have mental health diagnoses and/or physical challenges. Most participants require supportive structures and staff assistance to maximize their involvement in activities within the program as well as within the local community. Our staff educate through the creation and implementation of individualized service plans, daily curriculum/activities, and have a heavy focus on community integration.

Open Sky's Day Habilitation programs serve adults between the ages of 23-85 with a primary diagnosis of intellectual disabilities, though some individuals may also have mental health diagnoses and/or physical challenges. Most participants require supportive structures and staff assistance to maximize their involvement in activities within the program as well as within the local community. Our staff educate through the creation and implementation of individualized service plans, daily curriculum/activities, and have a heavy focus on community integration.

The Developmental Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the implementation of the Day Habilitation Service Plans, and supported routines for individuals served in the program. They also identify and secure needed resources to increase independence, develop valued community roles and personal relationships.

Other Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activity schedules.


• Foster and develop positive community relationships.


• Train staff in the DHSP process, reporting requirements, and implementation of strategies.


• Provide case management as assigned and participate in interdisciplinary teams.


• Collaborate and maintain positive relationships with ancillary services, community members, other service providers and significant others.


• Ensure individuals are receiving supports to maximize their health and safety.
