Job summary

Open Sky Community Services in Massachusetts is seeking a Developmental Specialist for our Day Habilitation program serving adults with intellectual disabilities. You will develop and oversee Day Habilitation Service Plans, support routines, and help increase independence and community integration.

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history, required.
• Drug testing required.
• Reliability, willingness to learn, and openness to new opportunities.

Job description

Open Sky's Day Habilitation programs serve adults between the ages of 23-85 with a primary diagnosis of intellectual disabilities, though some individuals may also have mental health diagnoses and/or physical challenges. Most participants require supportive structures and staff assistance to maximize their involvement in activities within the program as well as within the local community. Our staff educate through the creation and implementation of individualized service plans, daily curriculum/activities, and have a heavy focus on community integration. The Developmental Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the implementation of the Day Habilitation Service Plans, and supported routines for individuals served in the program. They also identify and secure needed resources to increase independence, develop valued community roles and personal relationships.

Other Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily activity schedules.
