Job summary

Colossal Biosciences is seeking a Developmental Biologist based in Dallas, TX, to design and conduct experiments for genetic engineering in avian de-extinction projects. The ideal candidate will have a DVM/PhD and experience in manipulating avian embryos.

Qualifications

• DVM/PhD in developmental biology, biological sciences, or related field is required.
• 2+ years of experience in developmental biology strongly preferred.
• 2+ years of experience with avian eggs and embryos strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and familiarity with genetics and development literature.
• Work closely with the bioinformatics team to identify genetic variants.
• Perform in ovo electroporations and manipulations on avian embryos.
• Design and implement novel experiments for non-model birds.
