Job summary

Richmond Performing Arts Alliance seeks a Development Manager to oversee grants, sponsorships, and special events, serving as the main contact for corporate supporters. You will conduct research, write proposals, and report to funders, while managing sponsorships for events and programs and actively engaging the community.

You will work closely with the Director of Development, track metrics, and develop donor profiles.

Qualifications

• At least three years in direct fundraising including grants, sponsorships, and events.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher; experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
• Creative, enthusiastic, and goal‑oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multi‑task, and follow through with tasks.
• Detail‑oriented and comfortable handling financial information.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
• Commitment to RPAA’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Establish long‑term partnerships with corporate and foundation funders.
• Work with the Director of Development to engage, secure, and steward relationships.
• Track and report metrics aligned with the strategic plan.
• Develop donor profiles and prospects to align with programs.
• Manage deadlines for proposals and reports.
• Conduct prospect research for new funders.
• Prepare for donor meetings, site visits, and follow‑ups.
• Collaborate with Marketing to raise awareness of corporate gifts.
• Plan and execute grants, sponsorships, and events with coordinators.
