Job summary

The Salvation Army in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Development Specialist to secure institutional gifts and manage grant funding across government, private foundations, and corporate partners.

You will coordinate with leadership, prepare funding proposals, and diversify the grant base to support programs and operations. This full-time, exempt role offers 40 hours per week, with starting pay up to $60,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience; located at Midland Divisional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required with 2 years’ relevant experience.
• Project coordination experience is important.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership and corps officers on missional needs and planning.
• Work closely with social services staff and corps officers when preparing projects for funding proposals.
• Perform relevant research to identify available grant opportunities and evaluate the results.
• Maintain existing and grow additional government agency, corporate and foundation funding partners.
• Assist with identifying and developing strategies to optimize the grants administration process.
• Work with Contracts and Grants Compliance Manager to ensure grants are implemented according to operational and financial needs, as well as funding guidelines.
