Job summary

Town of Marana seeks a driven Development Services Deputy Director to assist the Development Services Director in planning, supervising, organizing, and managing all development-related activities including planning, engineering, environmental, plan review and permitting, building and inspections.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with five+ years of progressive leadership in engineering, construction, or planning, plus over five years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in engineering, construction, or planning or directly related field.
• Over five years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to understand and interpret complex regulations, laws, codes, policies in planning, land use, environment, and municipal services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, supervising, organizing, and managing Development Services Department activities.
• Oversee Building, Permitting, Planning, Engineering, and Environmental Divisions.
• Develop organizational goals and performance metrics; improve efficiency and policy processes.
• Represent the Town on boards, commissions and committees; present items to Town Council and Planning Commission.
• Manage budget development and ensure compliance with regulations; provide staff leadership and development.
