Job summary

City of Santa Fe seeks a seasoned planning professional to oversee all phases of design, engineering, capital and development plan review, construction inspection, surveying, and mapping for the Community Services Department. The role provides counsel to the City Manager and City Council and manages inspectors, permit technicians, and a receptionist.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Planning, Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Good communication skills both written and oral.
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage design, engineering, capital plan review, construction inspection for City projects.
• Prepare and update the City’s Capital Improvements Plan.
• Present findings to executive staff, Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Adjustment, City Council, and public.
• Coordinate review processes with applicants, property owners, planning staff, and regulatory bodies.
• Develop and monitor department budget and goals; implement programs and policies.
