Job description

Development Operations Manager

YWCA Madison is seeking an experienced Development Operations Manager to lead the operations, systems, and processes that power the organization's fundraising and donor engagement efforts. Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer, this role is responsible for managing the donor relation system, gift processing workflows, donor data integrity, reporting, and the operational infrastructure that supports individual giving, major gifts, and stewardship strategies.

The Development Operations Manager will serve as the operational leader, working both independently and in close partnership with Finance, Grants and Compliance, Marketing and Communications, and organizational leadership to ensure fundraising systems run smoothly, data accuracy, and donor relationships are well supported.

YWCA Madison is a 116-year-old organization committed to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Our collective values are humanity, community, growth, and restoration. YWCA Madison is the largest provider of affordable housing for women in Dane County.

We serve as a vital bridge to long-term stability through our transitional housing programs and are one of two shelters for families in Madison. Additionally, we serve individuals through Employment and Training programs, Restorative Justice in schools and community centers, and through Learning and Movement Building. We are collectively creating the kind of world we want to live in.

YWCA Madison is part of the oldest and largest multiracial organization of women in the world. We are part of a national network of 200+ sibling associations across the United States and a global network of 60+ national associations. We are the largest provider of affordable housing for women in Dane County since 1909, initiated youth-centered restorative justice work in our community since 2010, provide healing-centered job training since 2014, and organize one of the largest and oldest Racial Justice Summits in the country since 2001.

Responsibilities include maintaining accurate donor records and CRM management; running gift and donor reports; drafting and refreshing acknowledgment templates; administering donor recognition and giving circle processes; developing and executing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies; leading targeted donor outreach including lapsed donor re-engagement; conducting prospect research and preparing donor profiles and briefing materials; supporting donor portfolio management and major gift prospects; and partnering with Finance on gift processing, reconciliation, and reporting.

Candidates should have 5+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, donor relations, major gifts, stewardship, or a related field. Strong organizational and project management skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to YWCA Madison's mission are essential.

This role will grow with the right candidate and serve as the catalyst for a successful career in nonprofit fundraising and relationship management at a recognized nonprofit with more than 116 years of transformative work in Dane County. Candidates should feel strongly committed to this mission and resonate with our values of humanity, restoration, community, and growth.
