Prairie View A&M University seeks a Development Officer I to advance KPVU Radio’s financial sustainability through underwriting, Sponsorships, and philanthropic support. This six-month role focuses on expanding revenue streams and community engagement for public media impact.

Under supervision, you will build a robust underwriting pipeline, collaborate with campus partners, and help position KPVU during the university’s sesquicentennial celebrations and beyond.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Aufgaben

• Development and implementation of a new strategy of identifying new sources of underwriting, sponsorship, grants, philanthropic gifts and corporate partnerships.
• Leveraging Prairie View A&M University’s Sesquicentennial to cultivate strategic partnerships and sponsorship opportunities that support KPVU’s special programming, live events, digital storytelling initiatives, and community engagement while establishing long-term funding relationships beyond the anniversary celebration.
• Collaborate with University Advancement, Marketing & Communications, Alumni Relations, Athletics, and other campus partners to strengthen fundraising efforts, expand community engagement, and identify opportunities for institutional and philanthropic support.
• Build and manage a robust corporate underwriting pipeline for KPVU’s on-air broadcast, livestream, website, mobile application, podcasts, digital content, and emerging multimedia platforms.
• Develop strategic partnerships with local, regional, and national organizations that align with KPVU’s mission, including opportunities through the station’s collaboration with the Black Public Radio Network and other public media initiatives.
• Identify and pursue grant opportunities, major gifts, sponsorships, and corporate investments that enhance KPVU’s role as Prairie View A&M University’s public media and digital storytelling destination.
• Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, special events, donor cultivation activities, and community outreach initiatives designed to increase financial support and public awareness of KPVU.
• Track fundraising performance, partnership activity, and revenue goals while providing monthly reports and recommendations to station leadership to support informed decision-making and sustainable growth.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
