Job description

DEVELOPMENT MANAGER:

Renewable Properties is seeking a highly motivated Development Manager to support the advancement of infill distributed energy infrastructure projects, including but not limited to battery energy storage systems (BESS), edge data centers, and electric vehicle charging hubs. This role will support the Director of Development and will have the opportunity to lead key parts of the development process for new infill distributed energy infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and brings strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities in order to balance numerous complex projects across the country. The ideal candidate also possesses knowledge of land-use planning, project entitlements, environmental permitting, and experience interfacing with external vendors and partners. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the deployment of modern infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
  • Support project development team with screening and siting key project locations
  • Provide analytical, strategic, and process support throughout the project development lifecycle (e.g. including land, interconnection, engineering, permitting, power marketing, construction & financing)
  • Assist with advancing development of assigned projects to construction-ready status
  • Lead scoping and implementation of due diligence, permitting, engineering, legal, and other activities
  • Assist with preparation of applications to agencies; assist with representing or preparing representation of the Company’s position in hearings and community workshops
  • Maintenance of project data, databases, and tracking tools for assigned projects
  • Manage consultants and external vendors
  • Support transactional activities by maintaining data rooms and other activities as necessary
  • Prepare documents, applications, meeting agendas/minutes, and reports
  • Successfully interact and collaborate with a variety of internal and external project partners
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in development ideally in structured land development, energy, (prior experience in renewable energy is a plus), engineering, and/or, real estate
  • Expertise with various facets of land project development process to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS, Google Earth, AutoCAD, and other geospatial and/or drafting tools used for due diligence and project execution processes
  • Familiarity with surveying and utility new service connection processes including but not limited electricity, water/sewer, and, telecommunication utilities
  • Resourceful and accomplished research skills to effectively utilize publicly available materials, tools, and, technology to derisk and expedite projects
  • Ability to succinctly communicate and summarize complex issues into actionable deliverables, and ensure timely completion of action items from internal and external parties
  • Driven, resourceful, and, comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Rigorous attention to detail, work ethic, personal responsibility, work product ownership, and, organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, urban planning, project management or a related field; Master’s preferred
