Job summary

Henderson James LLC is hiring a Development Manager to originate and advance large-scale power and data center infrastructure projects from initial screening through early to mid-stage development. The role is hands-on, focused on delivering projects amid rising data center and grid demand.

You will screen sites, manage consultants, lead landowner and utility engagements, and drive development schedules and budgets, ultimately moving land options to execution.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of project development experience.
• 2+ years on large power, energy infrastructure or data center projects.
• Experience in greenfield site selection, land acquisition and interconnection.
• Comfort managing third-party consultants and multiple workstreams.
• Background in utility-scale solar, BESS, wind, gas-fired power, transmission or data center development is welcome.

Development Manager – Power Generation & Data Center Infrastructure | $140K–$180K + 15–25% Bonus

Henderson James is partnering with a well-capitalized independent power developer to hire a Development Manager. You’ll originate and advance large-scale power and data center infrastructure projects from site screening through early and mid-stage development.

This is a hands‑on role for a developer who wants to work on some of the largest energy projects in the US, driven by surging data center and grid demand.

What you’ll do:

• Screen and diligence sites across land, water, natural gas supply, transmission and environmental constraints


• Manage consultants including geotechnical, hydrology, survey and right-of-way (ROW)


• Lead landowner outreach and utility engagement to secure site control


• Build and track development schedules and budgets


• Support land option and purchase agreements through to execution

What you bring:

• 5–8 years of project development experience


• At least 2 years on large power, energy infrastructure or data center projects


• Experience in greenfield site selection, land acquisition and interconnection


• Comfort managing third-party consultants and multiple workstreams


• Background in utility‑scale solar, BESS, wind, gas‑fired power, transmission or data center development is welcome
