Job summary

Johns Hopkins University is seeking an Assistant Director of Development to lead discovery and qualification of high-end annual gifts supporting IBBS, ICE, and DGM. You will manage a 75–100 donor portfolio with gifts from $500 to $25,000, building relationships through discovery visits, solicitations, and stewardship touches.

You will collaborate with leadership to set fundraising plans, drive donor strategies, and engage faculty and staff across the institution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; two years of related experience.
  • Experience with donor relations and fundraising strategies preferred.
  • Experience with alumni/population engagement is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with leadership, strategize and set an annual fundraising work plan with goals and KPIs.
  • Identify and qualify donors; contribute to strategy for donor relationships.
  • Identify and qualify new prospects and manage engagement for a portfolio.
  • Coordinate ongoing communications and engagement for the portfolio.
  • Utilize calls, visits, virtual engagements, and email to discover, cultivate, solicit and steward donors.
  • Record development activities in the CRM and collaborate with colleagues across the institution.
  • Conduct targeted visits to qualify prospects, solicit gifts, and steward donors.
  • Prepare gift proposals and solicitation materials for prospects/donors.
  • Evaluate programs and recommend adjustments to leadership.
  • Execute special projects advancing fundraising goals.
