Development Lead – Full Stack (Frontend Focused)

Location: Remote or Hybrid – Concord, CA

Overview

Our client is seeking a Development Lead to join their engineering team at a well-established and growing healthcare technology company. The focus is on delivering secure, cloud-based solutions supporting electronic payments, billing, and EDI transactions across healthcare and insurance systems. This role offers a key opportunity to lead a talented team building high-performance platforms for mission-critical operations in a regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop reusable frontend components using React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Integrate frontend interfaces with backend services via RESTful APIs (JSON, XML, SOAP, etc.).
• Write scalable, maintainable Java code on the backend.
• Lead a team of engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices.
• Utilize component libraries such as MUI or PrimeReact.
• Collaborate on DevOps practices with Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and related tools.
• Contribute to test automation, performance tuning, and secure coding standards.
• Support production issue troubleshooting and enterprise client integrations.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and foster continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of full-stack development experience with a focus on frontend leadership.
• 3–5 years of experience managing or mentoring developers.
• Strong backend development experience in Java (Spring preferred).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with SQL databases and source control tools (Git, Bitbucket, SVN, etc.).
• Understanding of authentication and security protocols (JWT, OAuth).
• Experience working in Agile development environments and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of HIPAA/PHI/PII compliance in software environments.
• Experience with open-source ETL tools (e.g., Streamsets, Talend, Airbyte).
• Practice with test-driven development and shift-left testing.
• Experience with ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and remote collaboration tools.
