Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Chicago seeks a Director of Development & Investor Project Services to lead the project management practice for the designated market. You will drive business development, client relations, financial performance, and successful execution of ground-up development, redevelopment, and capital-improvement programs.

The role requires extensive experience in real estate development, asset management, and advisory services, with strong leadership and strategic growth capabilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Certification preferred.
• Twelve or more years of progressive experience in real estate development, with 2+ years in management.
• Experience with developers, REITs, private equity clients, and institutional investors.
• Strong understanding of development economics, underwriting, and asset value creation.
• Advanced knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, procurement, scheduling, and financial reporting.
• Leadership, client advisory, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of project and development professionals with strategic direction.
• Direct complex development and capital improvement projects from due diligence through lease-up.
• Oversee feasibility studies, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and delivery planning.
• Provide fiduciary oversight of project finances including budgeting and cash flow.
• Establish governance, reporting standards, and decision-making processes for ownership and lenders.
• Manage design teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful outcomes.
• Identify and mitigate project risks related to scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Oversee multiple projects, assets, and client relationships with consistent delivery.
