George Washington's Mount Vernon is offering a Development Intern position (Part-Time, Temporary Sep–Dec) to support the Development team with the annual fundraising auction. The intern will assist with item procurement, donor outreach, event planning, and auction administration while gaining hands-on nonprofit fundraising experience.
The role is hybrid, with the intern able to choose on-site days, and compensation is $16 per hour for about 20 hours per week.
General Description:
This position supports the Development team with a primary focus on the organization's annual fundraising auction, one of its signature fundraising events. The intern will assist with auction item procurement, donor and business outreach, event planning, and auction administration while gaining hands‑on experience in nonprofit fundraising and development. This role offers an opportunity to work directly with the Development team to help create a successful auction that advances the organization's mission and philanthropic goals. This position requires a hybrid schedule where the intern can choose when to be on the estate.
$16 per hour
Around 20 hours/week. The internship runs from about September 1 to December 1. Start and end dates are flexible.
