Job summary

BPR Consulting Group is seeking an organized, motivated Development Engineering Coordinator / Permit Processing Specialist to join our team serving municipal and public agency clients in California.

The role supports permit processing, project coordination, plan routing, warranty tracking, submittal management, and coordination with engineers, inspectors, developers, and City staff. Emphasis on accuracy, timeliness, and professional communication is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, public administration, or related field preferred.
• 1+ years in development engineering, municipal engineering, permitting, or construction administration preferred.
• Familiarity with California development engineering practices a plus.
• Strong organizational and document management skills, ability to track multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn project tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction permit documentation and bond forms.
• Process and track grading and encroachment permits with required inspections.
• Coordinate permit routing and communicate status to Building Department.
• Prepare documentation for project closeout and City Notices of Completion.
• Track projects during warranty period and coordinate warranty walks.
• Organize and maintain project files; ensure document quality control.
